New Orleans born clarinetist Alcide "Yellow" Nunez had originally been a member of the "Original Dixieland Jass Band" in Chicago back in 1916 before he was replaced by Larry Shields.
He went on to win in a law suite for the writers credit to "Livery Stable Blues" following his departure from the group.
