Hot Antic Jazz Band

A group of six highly accomplished dedicated musicians who came together in Nīmes, France in 1979 "The Hot Antic Jazz Band" have since triumphantly achieved their initial ambition of recreating the hot jazz sound of the small black assemblies that dominated 1920's Chicago. Just three years after this band came to be they more than exceeded their wildest expectations with the launch of a large scale European tour with legendary trumpeter Jabbo Smith after virtually forty years of musical inactivity. He was one of the group's greatest idols and this experience had a lasting impact on the jazz music they would produce hence forth. Perhaps the only ensemble in history to fully master the hot style and overall sound of "Jabbo Smith's Rhythm Aces" current members of this landmark band are: Michel Bastide cornet, Bernard Antherieu clarinet, alto-sax, & banjo, Michel Bescont clarinet & tenor sax, Martin Seck piano, Henry Lemaire banjo, guitar, & clarinet, and Christian Lefevre tuba.
