Whoopee Stomp (Take 2)
Kansas City Frank Melrose
"Kansas City" Frank (as Broadway Rastus)
This solo was recorded in New York City on April 10th 1930 featuring Frank Melrose appearing under the pseudonym "Broadway Rastus" at the piano.
"Whoopee Stomp" was composed by Frank Melrose.
In spite of a recent change of venue now appearing in New York, "Kansas City" Frank Melrose is entirely in his element for the performance of this spectacular original stomp.
Beginning with a very Jelly Roll Morton influenced intro this piece rapidly progresses to take on an identity all it's own, while only reverting back to snatch a little taste of "Jelly" every now and again.
