Frank Melrose

(November 26th 1907 - September 1st 1941)

Frank was the younger brother of music publishers Walter and Lester Melrose, who ran the Melrose Brothers Music store in Chicago. A talented pianist and a great admirer of Jelly Roll Morton he left home at sixteen spending time in St. Louis, Kansas City, and Detroit before returning to the Windy City. Frank Melrose was found dead on the street under mysterious circumstances in 1941.
