There's Too Many Eyes
Ipana Troubadours
The Three Lanins
This recording was made in New York City by the "Ipana Troubadours" led by Sam Lanin with Smith Ballew vocals in 1929.
Popular bandleader Sam Lanin had two brothers who both led Jazz groups as well. The middle brother Howard was dubbed "The King of Society Music" performing show tunes and waltzes, and sweet Jazz. Lester, the youngest, first aspired to be a lawyer before he got bit by the Jazz bug himself. Quitting high school to play music he found a comfortable living entertaining for the parties of wealthy socialites even after the start of the great depression.
