"The Virginians" were a studio band comprised of members of the "Paul Whiteman Orchestra" under the direction of Ross Gorman.
Ross Gorman rose to prominence in "Paul Whiteman's Orchestra" and is best remembered for playing the opening clarinet solo on the band's recording of George Gershwin's "Rhapsody In Blue".
