Art Landry was a clarinetist and leader of one of the earliest dance orchestras to gain widespread popularity known simply as the "Art Landry Band". His famous "Call Of The North Orchestra" was formed in the early '20's and recorded extensively on the East Coast from 1923 until 1927, billed as either "Art Landry & His Call of the North Orchestra" or simply "Art Landry & His Orchestra". He also released recordings under the names Art Landry's "Syncopatin' Six", "The Regent Orchestra" and "Art Landry & His Commodore Band."
