Recorded in Chicago on January 16th 1925 by the "Isham Jones Orchestra".
*"Alabamy Bound" was composed by Ray Henderson, with lyrics by Bud De Sylva and Bud Green.
Tenor saxophonist, Isham Jones was the leader of the most revered Chicago dance orchestras active during the 1920s. Sometime in 1922 the group became the resident band at the Hotel Sherman's College Inn in Chicago and would also play side bookings at different establishments around the city. His Orchestra's run at the Inn lasted until February of 1925 when Vincent Lopez's band replaced them.
Jones' was not only praised for exceptional musicianship but also for his compositions and inventive arrangements. Among his best known works are the songs "It had to be You" and "I'll See You In My Dreams".
