Ain't Misbehavin'
Butch Thompson
"In Honor of Fats"
Butch Thompson plays the Fats Waller classic "Ain't Misbehavin'" during a performance in 2012.
Primer stride and ragtime pianist Butch Thompson started his life long journey in music playing Christmas carols on his mother's piano when he was three.
As a high school senior in his hometown of Marine on St. Croix, Minnesota he led his first jazz band "Shirt Thompson and His Sleeves" and for a time switched to the clarinet.
Following a brief stint with a local dixieland band Butch made his first trip to New Orleans when he was eighteen and has since traveled the world performing with jazz bands and symphony orchestras alike.
