Comedian and female impersonator Frankie 'Half Pint' Jaxon got his start in show business around 1910 singing in bars and cafes in Kansas City. Between 1916 and 1921 he toured the United States on various vaudeville theater circuits. By the early '20s Frankie was appearing in Chicago with Joe King Oliver and Freddie Keppard at establishments including the Sunset and Plantation Cafe's. In the Chicago area during the 1930s he made frequent radio appearances and led his own group, Frankie 'Half Pint' Jaxon and his "Quarts Of Joy".
