The Monkey Doodle Doo!
Boyd Senter
Feat. Jack Russell
This recording was made in New York City in December of 1925 featuring Boyd Senter clarinet, c-melody sax, & kazoo (or trumpet), Jack Russell piano, and Charles Kaley banjo.
*"The Monkey Doodle Doo!" is a novelty song written in 1913 by Irving Berlin.
I can't swear to this, but to me the second solo by Senter is not kazoo but an actual trumpet, possibly played with a straight mute. Hearing this record played on modern equipment with the best possible needle would probably reveal the truth. -Daniel Weinstein
