Recorded December 9th 1919 in New York City with personnel including Walter Kahn cornet, Harry Raderman trombone, Ted Lewis clarinet and vocal, and John Lucas drums.
*"When My Baby Smiles at Me" was composed by Bill Munro, with words by Andrew B. Sterling and Ted Lewis.
The song was printed by Von Tilzer Publishing in 1920. When it was released on record in 1920 it became the first big hit for Ted Lewis and his Jazz Band. It soon became his signature tune, spending eighteen weeks on the billboard charts and holding the number one position for seven. This song would also be covered by other artists of the day and Lewis himself re-recorded it several times over the years.
