Dallas Blues
Ted Lewis & His Band
Feat. Fats Waller
This side was produced in New York City on March 5th 1931 by "Ted Lewis & His Band" featuring Ted Lewis director & speech, Muggsy Spanier trumpet, George Brunies trombone, Benny Goodman clarinet, and Thomas "Fats" Waller piano & vocals.
*"Dallas Blues" was composed by Hart A. Wand, with lyrics by Lloyd Garret.
On a recording released as "Ted Lewis & His Band" George Brunies, Muggsy Spanier and Benny Goodman join Thomas "Fats" Waller in a performance peppered with spoken introjection from their renown session leader.
Ted Lewis is definitely present, but thankfully for everyone has nothing to do with playing the actual music.
