Weary Way Blues
Dixieland Thumpers
Feat. Johnny Dodds
This side was recorded in Chicago during August 1927 with Natty Dominique trumpet, Johnny Dodds clarinet, Jimmy Blythe piano, and Baby Dodds washboard.
*"Weary Way Blues" was composed by Jimmy Blythe and Dan Minor.
Johnny Dodds and Natty Dominique excelled at instrumental interplay during these landmark recording sessions led by Jimmy Blythe. Although frequently billed as the "State Street Ramblers" this Paramount release finds the group appearing under one of their lesser known pseudonyms the "Dixieland Thumpers".
