Skip Parsons' Riverboat Jazz Band

A successful jazz band from the Albany, New York area first organized in 1956 by clarinet and soprano saxophonist Skip Parsons, together with friends Tom Brown and Don LaVoie; drums and cornet. Over his long career jazz patriarch Skip Parsons has played with greats including Pee Wee Erwin, Bobby Hackett, Ed Hubble, Russell Moore, Vic Dickenson, Doc Cheatham, Joe Muranyi, Bobby Pratt, Jack Maheu, Will Alger, Spiegel Wilcox, Kenny Davern and Spanky Davis. Skip and the band continue to be active in the region and appear monthly at the Fountain Restaurant, their home since 1971.
