This record was made in New York City on September 17th 1926 featuring Clyde Shugart kazoo & vocals, with Harold Whitacre (aka Jerry Adams), Wayne Durand, Walter Howard, and Ned Nestor; harmonica, ukulele, jug, washboard, & banjo. -(Although there is surviving documentation listing the musicians names, it is not known who played what.)
*"Sadie Green, The Vamp Of New Orleans" was composed by Gilbert Wells.
The "Five Harmaniacs" were a jug band most famous for their original song "Coney Island Washboard" released as Victor 20293-B.
The tune enjoyed tremendous success and went on to be recorded by dozens of bands and sung by hundreds of barbershop quartets.
This popular fox trot written by Gilbert Wells was released as the record's A side (Victor 20293-A).
