Junie Cobbs' Hometown Band
Feat. Tiny Parham
Recorded in Chicago during August of 1926 with Junie Cobb alto sax & clarinet, Johnny Dodds clarinet, Tiny Parham piano, and Eustern Woodfork banjo.
Junie Cobb began his music career as a pianist in Johnny Dunn's Band as a teenager in New Orleans. He moved to Chicago around 1920 where he led his own band at Club Alvadere. Although he retired from playing full time in 1955 he remained musically active, playing gigs until 1967. This side captures both Junie Cobb and Johnny Dodds in their clarinet prime.
