More From "Bottomland"

Featured here are two versions of "Take Your Black Bottom Dance Outside," a song from the Clarence Williams musical "Bottomland" both recorded in 1927, the first of which features Williams' scat vocals.

The second version is performed in a faster tempo with vocals provided by Eva Taylor's niece Katherine Henderson and sounds much as it would have during the musicals short run.

It was recorded by Clarence Williams' "Blue Five" in New York City on April 27th 1927 with Katherine Henderson vocals, Ed Allen cornet, Charles Irvis trombone, Arville Harris clarinet and tenor sax, Clarence Williams piano, Leroy Harris banjo, and Floyd Casey drums.
