Got No Time
Jane Green
Unsung Jazz Diva
This record was cut in New York City on May 28th 1925 featuring Jane Green vocals.
*"Got No Time" was composed by Richard Whiting, with lyrics by Gus Kahn.
Singer and early sound film star Martha Jane Greene met songwriter Jimmy Byler and they were married in 1918. Together he couple performed in Ziegfeld's "Nine O'clock Review" and "Midnight Frolic". Jimmy died unexpectedly from illness in 1924.
Martha started her recording career as Jane Green in 1920 with the title "Wild Romantic Blues." In 1925 she left for London where she appeared at the Piccadilly Hotel and The Kit Kat Club. In 1928 she appeared in the two Vitaphone Varieties shorts "Singin’ The Blues" and "The Melody Girl" with her second husband, pianist Ron Wilson.
Jane Green died at home in Berkley, California on August 28, 1931 from an apparent stroke, though there has since been some speculation as to her husband Ron Wilson's possible involvement.
