Beginning her career in the 1910s traveling with various minstrel shows New Orleans native Lizzie Miles established herself as a recording artist in New York in 1922.

After spending some time overseas performing in Paris during the mid-'20s, Lizzie returned to New York where she collaborated on record singing a number of songs written by her accompanist Jelly Roll Morton.
