Recorded in New York City on December 17th 1924 featuring Eva Taylor vocals, Louis Armstrong cornet, Charlie Irvis trombone, Sidney Bechet clarinet, soprano sax, & contrabass sarrusophone, Clarence Williams piano & leader, and Buddy Christian banjo.

*"Mandy Make Up Your Mind" was composed by George W. Meyer with lyrics written by
Grant Clarke and Roy Turk.

The song was introduced in the musical revue "Dixie To Broadway" which originally ran
at the Broadhurst Theater in New York from October 29th 1924 until January of 1925.

Sidney Bechet displayed his creativity by introducing a unique instrument at the session, a contrabass sarrusophone completely new to the realm of jazz. Never mass-produced in the United States the large bass instrument invented by Pierre-Louis Gautrot in 1856 was meant to replace an oboe or bassoon which lack the power required for outdoor band performance.
