Surrounded by an ensemble comprised of some of his closest friends Johnny Dodds makes his final recorded appearance only two months before his death. The celebrated reed man had spent much of the previous decade in poor heath and was too ill to maintain his rigorous performance regiment of the 1920's, his most active period.
