This recording was made by the "Little Ramblers" in New York City on July 8th 1927 featuring members including Red Nichols cornet, Miff Mole trombone, Bobby Davis clarinet & alto sax, Irving Brodsky piano, Adrian Rollini bass sax & goofus, and Stan King drums.
*"Play It, Red" was composed by Harry Barris.
Harry Barris published "Play It, Red" in 1927 and Red Nichols scored a hit record with it soon after as the leader of his "Five Pennies". The pianist is said to have written the tune especially for Red Nichols while both men were members of the "Paul Whiteman Orchestra".
