Joe Turner
"Master of Harlem Stride"
Filmed for French TV in Paris during the 1960's this clip features a master of Harlem Stride, pianist Joe Turner.
Joe Turner got his first big musical break in 1928 when he was hired as a pianist for "Benny Carter's Orchestra". He would also later play with Louis Armstrong. After World War II Joe settled in Europe and from 1962 up until his death in 1990 he resided in Paris.
