Introducing: "Singin' The Blues"
Recorded in New York City on December 1st 1920 featuring Nick LaRocca cornet, Eddie Edwards trombone, Larry Shields clarinet, Benny Krueger alto sax, J Russell Robinson piano, and Tony Sbarbaro drums.
*"Margie" was written by Con Conrad and J Russel Robinson. The popular jazz staple *"Singin' The Blues" made its recorded debut here, introduced briefly as an incidental chorus.
In 1927 "Singing The Blues" would achieve greater popularity when it was recorded by the "Frankie Trumbauer Orchestra" featuring Bix Beiderbecke.
