*The tune "New Orleans Shuffle" was written by the orchestra's pianist, Bill Whitmore.
The Halfway House Orchestra recorded for Columbia and Okeh between 1925 and 1928. The group was led by cornetist Albert Brunies, brother of George Brunies trombonist with the New Orleans Rhythm Kings.
