"Jazz Alley"
This performance was filmed in Chicago in 1968 for the educational TV program "Jazz Alley", hosted by pianist Art Hodes, and features New Orleans trombone legend George Brunies, with Nappy Trottier trumpet, Jimmy Grenato clarinet, Truck Parham bass, and Monte Mountjoy drums.
Made famous by the "Original Dixieland Jass Band" and the "New Orleans Rhythm Kings" a familiar anthem of early jazz by Tom Delaney is presented by Art Hodes and the ensemble in all of its glory. Providing example to Hodes explanation George Brunies plays this evergreen like no other trombonist, incorporating several elements unique to his style.
