This recording was cut in Richmond, Indiana on March 13th 1923 featuring Paul Mares cornet, George Brunies trombone, Leon Roppolo clarinet, Mel Stitzel piano, and Ben Pollack drums.

*"Tin Roof Blues" is credited to the "New Orleans Rhythm Kings" as a collaboration by the entire group.

Four months prior to making history as the first band to issue a racially mixed recording with Jell Roll Morton, the "Rhythm Kings" appeared in high spirits for the production of this original side. Unlike the "Original Dixieland Jass Band", their recorded predecessors, the "New Orleans Rhythm Kings" did not attempt to deny the African-American roots of jazz, they embraced them.
