Heebie Jeebies
Louis Armstrong & His Hot Five
Feat. Johnny St. Cyr
This recording was made in Chicago on February 26th 1926 featuring Louis Armstrong trumpet & vocals, Kid Ory trombone, Johnny Dodds clarinet, Johnny St Cyr banjo, and Lil Hardin Armstrong piano.
*"Heebie Jeebies" was composed by Boyd Atkins.
This is one of the first records to contain scat singing. Although it was not the recorded debut of the improvised vocal flourish, the practice was previously used almost exclusively during live performance.
