Percolatin' Blues
Fowler's Favorites
Feat. Benny Waters
This recording was produced in New York City on March 8th 1927 featuring June Clark trumpet, Ernest Elliot clarinet, soprano, & alto sax, ? Benny Waters tenor sax, and Lemuel Fowler piano & vocals, with unknown trombone, banjo, bass brass, & drums.
*"Percolatin' Blues" was composed by Lemuel Fowler.
This record represented Fowler at his unadulterated best as competent pianist/composer, vocalist, and leader with a band made up of some of his favorite collaborators as their name strongly implies.
With a number of undocumented members this record is thought to feature the early tenor saxophone work of Benny Waters who was a regular member of "Charlie Johnson's Paradise Orchestra" at the time.
