"A Plea For Love"

Recorded in New York City on September 11th 1929 featuring Lee Morse vocals, accompanied by
the Columbia studio orchestra.

*"Love Me" was composed by T. Aivaz, with lyrics by Jean Lenoir.

The wavering heart choked vocals of that one of a kind singer Miss Lee Morse brings a sense of genuine emotional longing to this graceful love ballad. Had it not been for her drinking Lee's fantastic vocal range would have made her a big Broadway star. One particularly ill fated bout with alcohol destroyed any chance for such success.

Lee's prayers for Broadway stardom became a reality when she was cast as the leading lady in Florenz Ziegfeld's musical "Simple Simon". On February 18th 1930 the show's opening night, Lee Morse made her entrancement along side comedian co-star Ed Wynn and was greeted with a roar of applause from the audience. Then alcohol induced tragedy struck when she took the stage and was unable to remember any of the words to her songs.
