Recorded in Chicago on July 14th 1926 featuring George Mitchell cornet, Kid Ory trombone, Johnny Dodds clarinet, "Stump" Evans alto sax, Lil Hardin-Armstrong piano, Johnny St Cyr banjo, and Baby Dodds drums.
*"Mixed Salad" was composed by Lil Hardin and Louis Armstrong.
Saxophonist Paul "Stump" Evans performed and recorded with a number of top jazz ensembles in Chicago during the early half of the 1920's most famously playing c-melody sax with the "King Oliver Jazz Band". Evans died on August 29th 1928 of tuberculosis at the tragic age of twenty-four.
