Junie Cobb

(1896? - 1970?)

Junius C. Cobb, born in Hot Springs, Arkansas around 1896, played with Johnny Dunn while still a teenager and later moved to Chicago. A multi-instrumentalist and jazz bandleader his main instruments were the tenor saxophone & clarinet but he was also proficient on piano, violin, banjo, and drums. After stints with the bands of King Oliver and Jimmie Noone, Junie assembled a group of his own in 1928 featuring his trumpeter brother Jimmy Cobb.
