Jimmy Lytell Plays "The Five Harmaniacs"
Recorded in New York City during January of 1927 featuring Jimmy Lytell clarinet, with unknown cornet, piano, & banjo. For the original version recorded by "The Five Harmaniacs" Click Here.
*"Coney Island Washboard" was composed by Hampton Durand and Jerry Adams, with lyrics by Ned Nestor and Aude Shugart. They were all members of a novelty jug band known as "The Five Harmaniacs" and the tune was their biggest hit.
Lytell's undeniable dominance of reed really comes through here in both his control and fluidity.
