This recording was made in Chicago in May of 1926 with W E Burton washboard & vocals, Jimmy Blythe piano, and Johnny Dodds clarinet.
W.E. (Buddy) Burton appeared on many 1920's Chicago South Side jazz and blues 78 rpm records as a vocalist, pianist, and on drums or washboard. Moving from Louisville, Kentucky to Chicago around 1922, Burton made his first recordings with Jelly Roll Morton soon after. Later he would become a frequent attendee of sessions led by pianist Jimmy Blythe.
