Recorded in Chicago on February 26th 1929 featuring Jimmie Noone clarinet & leader, Joe Poston clarinet & alto sax, Alex Hill piano, Junie Cobb banjo & guitar, Bill Newton bass brass, and Johnny Wells drums.

*"Chicago Rhythm" was composed by Bernie Grossman and Ben Kanter.

Jimmie Noone's "Apex Club Orchestra" deliver an upbeat performance that keeps its momentum aided by the flowing forward moving piano of Alex Hill and string work of Junie Cobb who was usually a reed player.

Noone led this band at the Apex Club a notorious speakeasy located on Chicago's Southside from 1928 until 1930 when the establishment was shut down after being raided by federal agents.
