Knockin' A Jug
Louis Armstrong & His Orchestra
Feat. Jack Teagarden
This side was recorded in New York City on March 5th 1929 featuring Louis Armstrong trumpet, Jack Teagarden trombone, Happy Cauldwell tenor sax, Joe Sullivan piano, Eddie Lang guitar, and Kaiser Marshall drums.
*"Knockin' A Jug" was a co-composed by Louis Armstrong and Eddie Condon.
Acting as the recorded introduction to what was to be a long and fruitful musical association, this was the very first record on which both Jack Teagarden and Louis Armstrong would appear.
The two prominent jazz men formed a long lasting friendship and continued to perform and record together sporadically throughout the coming years.
