This side was recorded in New York City on April 4th 1930 featuring Jack Purvis trumpet, leader, & arranger, J C Higginbotham trombone, Coleman Hawkins tenor sax, Frank Froeba piano, Will Johnson guitar, Adrian Rollini bass sax, and Charlie Kegley drums.

*"Down Georgia Way" was arranged by Jack Purvis.

White jazz trumpeter Jack Purvis was leader of a couple of racially mixed sessions in 1930. That year, after his departure from the Hal Kemp band, Purvis would play fourth trumpet in rehearsals with the orchestra of Fletcher Henderson, and work with "The Dorsey Brothers" and the "California Ramblers".
