This side was produced in Richmond, Indiana on July 18th 1923 featuring Paul Mares cornet, George Brunies trombone, Leon Roppolo clarinet, Jack Pettis c-melody sax, Glen Scofield alto & tenor sax, Jelly Roll Morton piano & leader, Bob Gillette banjo, Chink Martin tuba, and Ben Pollack drums.

The "New Orleans Rhythm Kings" made history in 1923 appearing on record with the celebrated New Orleans pianist, composer, and band director Jelly Roll Morton. Produced one day following their collaborative recording of Joe "King" Oliver's "Sobbin' Blues", this Morton original truly shines in its treatment of combined talents. These recordings were the very first to feature a racially mixed ensemble.
