This side was cut in New York City on October 16th 1928 arranged by Elliot Jacoby, with Irving Mills (as Milton Irving) vocals, Jimmy McPartland and Al Harris cornet, Jack Teagarden trombone, Benny Goodman clarinet, alto, & soprano sax, Gil Rodin clarinet & alto sax, Larry Binyon tenor sax, Ed Bergen and Al Beller violin, Bill Schumann cello, Vic Breidis piano, Dick Morgan banjo, Harry Goodman bass brass, and Ben Pollack drums.

*"Since You Went Away" was written by Reuben Riddick and Lewis Smith.

The "Hotsy Totsy Gang" was a studio band assembled by Irving Mills solely for the purpose of making records.

Added to the group for this and their upcoming January session was a little string section comprised of violinists Ed Bergen and Al Beller, and cellist Bill Schumann.
