There's A Rainbow 'Round My Shoulder
Dixie Daisies
Feat. Irving Kaufman
This recording was made in New York City on August 10th 1928 by the "Dixie Daisies" led by Bob Haring, featuring personnel including Irving Kaufman vocals, Benny Goodman clarinet, and Jimmy Dorsey alto sax.
*"There's A Rainbow 'Round My Shoulder" was composed by Al Jolson, Dave Dreyer, and Billy Rose.
In 1926 Cameo merged with Pathé and from that point the identity of the groups marketed under the name "Dixie Daisies" becomes a complex issue that is still in the process of being untangled to this day. The name persisted until 1928, when Cameo, Pathé and several other dime store labels were bought by the American Record Corporation. A young Benny Goodman can be heard playing on some of the very last records issued under the "Dixie Daisies" name.
