Recorded in New York City on June 4th 1929 featuring Ward Pinkett and Jack Wilson (or Langston Curl) trumpets, Jimmy Archey trombone, Charlie Holmes clarinet, soprano, & alto sax, F. Eugene Mikell tenor sax, Joe Steele piano & director, Percy Richardson banjo, Joe Garland baritone sax, Fred Smith tuba, and Gerald Hobson drums.

*"Top And Bottom" was composed by Francis Eugene Mikell.

During W.W. I Francis Eugene Mikell rose to the rank of bandmaster in the "369th Regimental Band" of Lieutenant James Reese Europe. After the war Mikell became a music instructor, particularly well known for sharing harrowing tales from his days on the battlefront.
