Trumpeter and Boston bandleader George Tynes leads his ensemble billed as the "Georgia Cotton Pickers" for this 1930 Harmony session.

In addition to James 'Buster' Tolliver the pianist who would later be noted for his work with Noble Sissle, Coleman Hawkins, and Sidney Bechet another future star of the group Bob Chestnut would lead his own band and teach arranging at the Berklee School of Music.
