Wherever You Are
Fred Elizalde & His Anglo American Band
Feat. Al Bowlly
This record was produced in London, England on July 25th 1928 by "Fred Elizalde's Band" featuring Chelsea Quealey trumpet, Bobby Davis clarinet, alto, & soprano sax, Max Farley tenor sax, Adrian Rollini bass sax, Fred Elizalde piano & director, Al Bowlly guitar & vocals, Tiny Stock bass, and Ronnie Gubertini drums.
*"Wherever You Are" was composed by Eddie Dowling and James F. Hanley.
Accepting an invitation extended by Fred Elizalde on New Years Eve 1928 to come perform with his band at the Savoy Hotel in London, "California Ramblers" Adrian Rollini, Chelsea Quealey, and Bobby Davis immediately embarked on a voyage bound for England. But their arrangement was not to last, a poorly received tour of Scotland and a British ban implemented on foreign musicians coupled with the start of The Great Depression would finally force the visiting American's return home.
