"Jack Teagarden's All-Stars"

Filmed during a 1951 TV appearance Jack Teagarden trombone & leader, performs with his "All Star Band" including brother Charlie Teagarden trumpet, Don Bonnee clarinet, Heinie Beau alto sax, Pud Brown tenor sax, Marvin Ashbaugh piano, Ray Leatherwood bass, and Ray Bauduc drums.

*"Jack Armstrong Blues" was co-written by Jack Teagarden with Louis Armstrong

Teagarden starts off using only the trombone slide amplified with a drinking glass, then dips behind the bar during the trumpet and clarinet solos emerging with his trombone fully assembled. He quotes Gershwin's "An American in Paris" in his second, complete horn, solo.

In 1946 Teagarden joined Louis Armstrong's All Stars. Armstrong and Teagarden's work together displayed a wonderful rapport, in particular their duet on "Rockin' Chair". In late 1951 Teagarden left to again lead his own band, then co-led a band with Earl Hines. He toured Japan with a group under his own name in 1958 and 1959.
