Blue And Broken Hearted
Eddie Condon's All Stars
Wild Bill Davison Plays Lou Handman
This footage of the "Eddie Condon All Stars" was filmed in New York City in 1962 with Wild Bill Davison cornet, Cutty Cutshall trombone, Peanuts Hucko clarinet, Johnny Varro piano, Eddie Condon guitar, Joe Williams bass, and Buzzy Drootin drums.
*"Blue And Broken Hearted" composed by Lou Handman, with lyrics by Grant Clarke and Edgar Leslie.
Legendary cornetist Wild Bill Davison blows his heart out for this phenomenal performance with Eddie Condon's "All-Star" band. As Eddie Condon explains, the "All-Stars'" rendition of "Blue And Broken Hearted" performed here is a version of the tune that his band "more or less revived or revised" (both are correct) for their performance with Bing Crosby a couple of years earlier.
