Recorded at a Church studio in Camden, New Jersey on March 27th 1928 with Jabbo Smith trumpet, Fats Waller organ, James P Johnson piano, and Garvin Bushell clarinet, alto sax, & bassoon.
*"'Sippi" was written by James P Johnson, Con Conrad, and Henry Creamer.
This tune was written for and originally featured in the 1928 musical comedy revue "Keep Shufflin'". The two act Broadway musical ran for one hundred-four performances between February 27th and May 26th 1928. In fact the show was such a tremendous success that its run was shared by two separate New York City venues Daly's 63rd Street Theater and, beginning in April of that year, the Eltinge 42nd Street Theater.
