*"Pianoflage" was composed by Roy Bargy.
Fate Marable was a pianist and bandleader best known for leading groups that performed on steamboats up and down the Mississippi River between New Orleans and Minneapolis. This recording is one of only two ever made by a band under his direction.
A Chicago resident since the late 1910s well rounded piano composer Roy Bargy became employed by the Imperial Piano Roll company in 1919. He is more notably remembered as director of the celebrated "Benson Orchestra of Chicago" from 1920 to 1922.
