"Evelyn's Advice in Love"

Recorded in New York City on October 14th 1926 featuring Evelyn Preer vocals, accompanied by
unknown cornet, saxophones, violin, piano, banjo, tuba, & drums.

*"It Takes A Good Woman (To Keep A Good Man At Home)" was composed by Milton Ager,
with lyrics by Jack Yellen.

Originally issued on this 1926 Victor single the fox trot would be recorded again by Evelyn Preer backed
by the "Duke Ellington Orchestra" in January of the following year.

However this one remained the peppier and less rehearsed sounding version of the two.

Curiously enough for her second recording with Ellington the same song was billed as "If You Can't Hold the Man You Love (Don't Cry When He's Gone)" and credited to an entirely different songwriting team, composer Sammy Fain and lyricist Irving Kahal.
