This recording was made in New York City during early July of 1922 with Alberta Hunter vocals, accompanied by "Eubie Blake & His Orchestra".

*"Don't Pan Me" was written by Gus Butler.

Leaving her native city of Memphis in her very early teens Alberta Hunter headed for Chicago with aspirations of finding employment as a singer but instead found work as a maid at a boarding house. But she didn't give up nor let anyone shatter her dream of stardom. After years spent making the rounds performing at a variety of bars and brothels around Chicago she finally caught her big break with a booking at the Dreamland Cafe, as the featured singer with King Oliver's band.
